2020 24 Hour Film Festival

The Theatre Guild kicks off the official start of our 6th annual 24-Hour Film Contest as we announce the theme for this year’s short films. This annual event is both a celebration and exploration of the digital arts and digital performance and is open to all.  Contestants have 24 hours to create, write, film and edit their short films.

As we announce the theme today, remember that contestants will register on Aug 7 between 5 and 6 pm.  The registration location will be announced at a later date. Once registration is complete filmmakers will learn the prop, location and line of dialog to include in their entries and entries must be returned to us by 6 pm on Aug.8. Entries will be judged on several different criteria by a group of respected judges.

All entries will be safely screened for the public in a special showing on Saturday Aug. 15; more details will follow as the date approaches. Films can be a maximum of 5 minutes. Contest is open to all ages although minors will need a parent’s signature on the entry form, entry fee is $10.

This year’s theme is Separation – something everyone has been experiencing in many ways over the last few months. Films can be any genre – comedy, drama, romance, musical, mystery, etc. – as long as they focus on our theme.

In coming days, we’ll introduce our Judges, offer tips and more on what makes for great entries and we look forward to hearing from you!
